Job Title: Chief Actuary
Department: Actuarial
Reports to: EVP - Chief Financial Officer
Primary Purpose:Prepare reserves, financial reporting information, experience studies, financial projections, perform Appointed Actuary duties, perform Illustration Actuary Duties, develop and maintain company products, and manage Actuarial Department.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare, review, and signoff on actuarial reserves
- Supervise and improve actuarial financial reporting
- Develop and price new products
- Perform financial projections including Cash Flow Testing, Embedded Value, Income Statement projections, and other
- Prepare actuarial memorandums for policy filings
- Prepare and review policy contract wording
- Perform all duties as the Illustration Actuary
- Perform all duties as the Appointed Actuary
- Develop and program actuarial information systems
- Prepare information requests, perform special projects, and communicate with the Board of Directors, auditors, examiners, consultants, and other external parties
- Perform other special projects as requested by the company’s executive officers
- Supervise Policy Forms Manager and Actuarial Associate
- Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or Higher in Mathematics or Actuarial Science
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Tillinghast Actuarial Software skills
- At least 10 years of life insurance actuarial experience
